Ginger is a herb/ spice especially well known for giving warmth to the body through dishes or drinks that contain the root plants. However, many people also use ginger to cook with main dishes such as meat, fish, or chicken. Cooking with ginger varies with different people. I personally cook meat or chicken using a little bit of smeared ginger. It doesn’t just eliminate the stench meaty odor of the meat, but also adds delicious flavor to the dishes.
If you also love natural spices in your food, you can add ginger as extra ingredient while cooking. You will get delicious, flavorsome food that also can warm your body. Just remember to choose the right ginger to put in your dishes. Good shaped ginger has more natural juice that contains the ginger benefit. Meanwhile, dried gingers or gingers which are kept for too long usually have lost their natural juice and reduced in health and cooking benefits.
Cooking with ginger requires only a small amount, for example 2 – 3 cm. Too much use of ginger in cooking will actually make the food tastes bitter because of the strong ginger flavor. Except if this is what you want and you want the dominant ginger flavor in cooking.
However, for those of you who have sensitive stomach should not use too much ginger. Because, ginger is known to affect the stomach so it can cause a sense of pain. This is also true if you want to make a ginger drink, use only a little ginger to get a sense of warmth in the drink. Too much ginger will actually make your sensitive stomach uncomfortable.
